At our Flint youth basketball tryouts, players rotate through ball-handling, shooting, footwork, defensive stance, and game-speed decision making. Coaches evaluate skill level, coachability, effort, and teamwork to place each athlete on the right roster.
Why Flint’s Finest? Our program is built to teach fundamentals and compete against strong Michigan competition. Players practice 1–2 times per week and compete in league play in Flint/Brighton with 1–2 weekend tournaments. Over 80 alumni have gone on to play at the college level. All coaches are USA Basketball Certified and prioritize character, confidence, and team play.
Who should attend? Boys in grades 3–8 who want to learn, work hard, and be part of a supportive team culture. New to club basketball? Tryouts are also a great way to get a professional evaluation and a development plan for the season.

Season Details
Season Overview — Grades 3–6
Season dates: November to mid-March (primary competition window)
Games: 20–30 total across league nights in Flint & Brighton with 1–2 weekend events mixed in. Schedule is balanced for school and family commitments (final counts depend on league/tournament calendars).
Practices: 1–2× per week in the Flint area
Focus: Skill development, teamwork, and game readiness — ball-handling, shooting form, footwork, on-ball/helpside defense, passing & decision-making.
Typical month
- League play on weekends (Flint/Brighton)
- Select weekend dates for 1 or 2-day tournaments
- One development-focused practice and one team practice most weeks

Players are selected from our Flint youth basketball tryouts and placed on teams that match their current level so they can grow, compete, and have fun.
