Meet Our Founder: Jerome Adams Jr.
Jerome Adams Jr., PT, DPT, OCS — known around the gym simply as Coach Adams — founded Flint’s Finest Basketball Club in 2008 to give young athletes in Flint, Michigan a place to develop their game, their discipline, and their character. What began as a single team has grown into a 501(c)(3) nonprofit youth basketball program serving players from grades 3 through 12, with a long-standing partnership on the Under Armour Future Circuit.
A Flint native, Coach Adams is also a licensed physical therapist and board-certified orthopaedic clinical specialist. He earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Michigan–Flint and in 2012 founded Horizon Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation, an outpatient clinic on Miller Road in Flint. That clinical background shapes how Flint’s Finest trains: age-appropriate strength and conditioning, injury-prevention habits, and practices designed to prepare athletes to compete at the highest level safely.
What Coach Adams believes
- Character first. Discipline, commitment, leadership and integrity are taught on purpose, not by accident.
- Preparation wins. Physically and mentally demanding practices so players are ready when it counts.
- Health is part of performance. A physical therapist’s eye on movement, recovery and long-term athletic development.
- Flint deserves the best. Top instructors, real exposure events, and a program the community can be proud of.
